One of our favorite restaurants in town. It is know as the best steak restaurant. This is the last portion where this guy will bring all their sweets in each table and you can pick anything you want. But, with their unlimited meat for the whole main course, we always end up very full and no more roam for the dessert!

The temple is the a center of worship for Taoism, the religion which follows the teachings of the ancient Chinese philosopher, Lao Tze. You can see Taoist devotees following their rituals on Wednesdays and Sundays, as they climb the 99 steps of the temple to light joss sticks and have their fortunes read by the monks.

Built in 1972, the Taoist Temple is constructed in a highly ornate and, some would say, gaudy style of Chinese architecture, and is topped with a pagoda-style roof.

The temple has an elevation of 300 meters above sea level, and if you climb the 99 steps to the entrance, you will be rewarded with a good view of Cebu City and in the distance Mactan and Bohol islands. Nice sunset views too.

I've been here many many times and each time I visit, I always try to follow their rituals inside the temple. I love the view and the place itself!

what a snob guy!

This is the entrance of the store and I do know what is his role there. Maybe watching all those carts from people who don't know how to return it properly! hehehe!
He was very behave and good though, I had a picture hugging him and he likes me! yay!
I tried touching him...hehehe! He is one of another animal that looks real inside this store. I wish I will be able to see a real one, of course the one that is alive and kicking.

more more deer.....catch yah!

do a deer....

This is what I'm talking about in my previous post. A deer in the wall. Isn't it cute?
There are various of these in this store and my first time walking around here, I didn't enjoy with anything else like clothes or shoes as the usual stuff that will capture my eyes. I was busy roaming around and checking their various collections!

hanging bridge

I took this shot inside the store and I find this very cute. It looks real as well as the person in that bridge.
This is an amazing store but to be honest, I haven't tried buying anything for myself here, they are expensive for me. Smile!
I just love to roam around here and to see different amazing display of dead and alive animals.

Sister is pregnant

I am very happy when I learned from my sister that she is pregnant. This will be the first baby in the family and everyone is looking forward. I know my dad and mom are very much excited too for their first grandkid!
I am praying for her healthy pregnancy until the time she will deliver the baby. She is two months pregnant now and thank God, she didn't experience morning sickness and other hassles which other girls have to go through.
I also remind her to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, regular exercise, avoid preservatives and toxic foods, take vitamins prescribed by her OB and at the same time, be happy always and have a healthy lifestyle.

Jobless

I've been searching for jobs for almost two months and I still don't see any hope or signs that I will be getting one anytime soon. It's quite frustrating. I tried to be positive all the time but I can't avoid to feel sad about it. I also understand there are millions of people who are searching for jobs like me.

I am just trying to divert my attention and keep myself busy with online activities. So, I am glad meeting new friends in a forum where I am very active with and who introduce to me in different sites also which we can earn.

For those who have a lot of time and love to join forum, you can join mylot. This is a very legit site where you can earn from posting topics as well as responding topics. I've been in mylot since April and been paid every month.

First garden in USA

I grew up helping my Mother who loves gardening but I wasn't that good that time, i always complain because I am very allergy and I do know why mosquitoes loves to bite me, maybe I am just very noisy! Anyway, I learned a lot from those experiences and when I got here and have no job, I was thinking this is a great way to lessen boredom and at the same time, we will be able to eat fresh vegetables and save some money too.

My husband and I brought seeds such as pepper, melon, okra, broccoli, cucumber, tomatoes and we planted it all. It's a lot of work at first but it is very rewarding everyday seeing those vegetables growing up! We learned several things from our first experienced like we need to give enough space for each vegetable, as you have noticed, they are just very close from each other and it is very hard for us to go in between and remove the weeds. Second, We have to use a stand for tomatoes and from this experienced, we had some tomatoes lying in the soil because they are just too heavy. But, in general, I would say, we did it and surely, we will love to do it again!

The beauty of Antulang

This is the place where I grew up. I have a lot of memories in this area particularly in this sea and that native boat. We have to cross this area every weekend when I was in High School in order for us to get a tricycle and reached town where I was studying. Actually, My sister with 10 other relatives were renting a house in the town to avoid such hassle each day. As early as High School, we learned a lot in life. Name it all...hehehehe! but, it was a very fun and exciting journey since we have a very loving, caring and supportive Parents.

Another funny experienced here is that there are Fridays that we were home early and we don't have anyone who will picked us up. So, by combining our voice and effort, we will be shouting our famous line in our dialect " tundae me". Tunda means bringing someone on the next island by boat. And as soon as anyone will hear us, they will also shout back and after few minutes, we will be delighted to see this "bangka" coming on our way! hehehe...How easy life those times if we have cellphones! hehehehe!

Are you going to ask me if I have tried having an accident by this means of transportation? hehehe...YES! It was very windy and in the middle of this sea, big waves strikes us and we can't control for all the water to get in this little boat and all of a sudden, I realized I was in the water already,hehehe..It was very scary but we managed to swim. No one was hurt that time but I heard a lot of crying! hehehe!

The City of Gentle People

This photo was taken during the street parade of St. Paul University Dumaguete, one of the universities of the City and I am proud to be part of this wonderful institution.
This is the Boulevard area of our wonderful place, a place we love to hang out with friends and families. A place where you will see people eating peanuts, balot, tempura, unripe mango with "bagoong", ok enough..I am craving for all those foods! lol! and a place also where you will see couple who are very sweet, kids who are playing, tourists looking around and people who are exercising.

Friendster connects me to old friends

This year, I decided to open an account at Friendster and I was glad to meet a lot of my old friends whom I have not seen for over 15 years or less. It's great to have contact with them and hear their stories and know their whereabouts after all these years.
One of an old friends I have meet there was a schoolmate in College, We even found out that we are living in the same State here in USA. So, last December, we decided to meet in one of the restaurants in town. We had a great time talking and sharing our life experiences, our adjusments galore and things we realized and learned here.
This is Roma, my friend with her cute little boy Gunner.
I am looking forward to spend time with them again!

It needs a lot of hardwork and patient

Working online is not easy. It sounds cool to think we don't need to travel, dress up and go out from the house but in reality it needs a lot of patient and work but it is always rewarding at the end of the month.
I have tried a lot of sites and I enjoy meeting new friends virtually. I was also a victim of a scam sites in the past but it didn't stop me from trying. Even up to now, I am not scared to try new sites introduced by friends hoping it will help me earn a little bucks.
I spent half day working in those great sites I have and I am amazed learning how other people makes great money online to the point of buying something expensive like PC, digital camera, laptop and so on and so forth. I have even friends who can pay their mortgage just by her income online. Amazing isn't it?

Anyway, I am not yet in that level..lol! But, I know with a lot of readings, hard work, perseverance and patient, I will be able to attain my simple dream about working online.

....saving money....

Honestly, when I was working I don't save religiously. I realized how important it is when I quit from my job and learned that for 8 years of working, I save nothing! Although, I know I am the breadwinner of the family but not a valid excuse after all.
Anyway, past is past. Let's move on! So, how good are you in saving? Why need to save? How much per pay day? Those are the basic questions we asked to ourselves. We just need to do it and we just need to be consistent.
In my case, I will be trying my very best to save, though I don't have a great income this time since I am only earning online but I know I can do it.
There are various ways to save like spending less, make and stick to a budget and so on and so forth! but, the main core here is to start saving TODAY and my personal mission is to set aside 5-10 percent of what I earned regularly. I will try forget about it, I know it's not easy but just think it's a payment to a certain loan(hmmmm..)...It might be a less significant amount in the start but remember it will always accumulates. Good Luck to me! hehehe!

Summer 2008

Last Summer, my husband and I decided to utilize our small area at the back. Since we both love vegetables and fruits, we tried to plant okra, broccoli, tomatoes, peppers, melon and cucumber. It was very successful though we didn't apply any fertilizer on it.
It was just a lot of works at first but it was a great way of healing my boredom since I am just staying in the house most of the time.
Another positive side also is that we have saved money from our food shopping budget. Anyway, I can't wait to be summer again and for sure I will be trying more veggies!

..food trip..

I know everyone loves to eat but not everyone can cook! lol! I am one of those who can't. I know and learn some recipes but it turns out that I will be the one who will only eat it, not good!
This is one of the simpliest recipe that I cannot make. I mean the sauce! I love the way my husband made this!

It is ideal for brunch..lol! I am sharing the photo for everyone to taste! Joke! Enjoy!

A message for a dear friend...

I am thankful to Achel who helped me a lot just to come up with this wonderful account and page. I've been trying to figure out before how to start a blog. I remember a good friend also, shining angel who tried to guide me to start but I was hooked up with other stuff and at the same time procrastinating too.
Anyway, I would say, I am not only blessed with a wonderful families but I've been blessed with good friends too.

A short history about our friendship(Achel).

We met online at Visa journey last year since we were both processing our papers in coming here, USA. Luckily, we met in person last January 8 together with 2 other good friends, Beng and Kath during our interview at the Embassy. After that Achel and I never stopped communicating and even if we are living far from each other, we are still good friends!

Thanks for your effort and time in helping me with this blog..I appreciate your kindness and will never forget it!
